The 66th Session of the Lhengye Zhungtshog approved the “Guideline for recruitment of professional/skilled foreign workers during COVID-19” on 23 June 2020.
Pursuant to approval by the Lhengye Zhungtshog, the Guideline has been issued by the Ministry of Labour and Human Resources for implementation with effect from 24 June 2020.
Accordingly, the Department of Immigration is pleased to inform the general public that all applications for recruitment/entry of foreign workers in the professional/skilled categories must be submitted and processed with the Department of Labour, Ministry of Labour and Human Resources.
Entry of foreign workers in the professional/skilled categories (new applications as well those holding a valid work permit), shall be facilitated in accordance with the Guideline.
The Notification issued by the Department of Immigration on 1 June 2020 regarding entry of foreign workers in the professional/skilled categories stands superseded by the “Guideline for recruitment of professional/skilled foreign workers during COVID-19”.
